Claims Driver Sped Towards Watford Pedestrians

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a report of dangerous driving in Watford last month.

The incident occurred at around 12.30pm on Tuesday, 13th May in Bruce Grove.

A Hertfordshire Police officer claims when they tried to stop a ‘08’ plate black Ford Focus ST in the road, the driver acknowledged the officer before reversing the vehicle towards them.

It is then reported the driver drove at speed over a public footpath and onto St Albans Road whilst nearly colliding with around 10-15 pedestrians.

The driver's described as a white man and around 5ft 8-10ins tall. He was wearing a white t-shirt and dark trousers.
       
PC Carlie Thomas is investigating the incident and said: "This is reported to have happened during the middle of the day when there were quite a large number of people around. I would like to hear from anyone who was present at the time of the incident or saw the vehicle prior to or after this."
