Hitchin: Police Hunt Music And Jewellery Thieves

Detectives are investigating a burglary in Hitchin are appealing for witnesses and information that may lead to the recovery of property stolen in the incident.

Between 7pm and 7.55pm on Friday 15th November, offender(s) have gained access to an address in Truemans Road by forcing their way through a side door.

A quantity of jewellery was removed from the address including a nine carat gold cluster diamond ring and a nine carat gold ring and band with cubic zirconia. Also taken from the address was a brown, light oak Westbury violin, two bows and its case, which is navy blue with a dark red/purple interior.

Detective Constable Steve Cook, who is investigating, said: "I am very keen to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident.

I am also keen to hear from anyone who may have any information regarding the property stolen in this burglary. The violin is quite a unique item and I would urge anyone who has been offered it or the jewellery for sale or knows of their whereabouts to get in touch with me as soon as possible."
