Police discovered forty kilos of cannabis in a van they stopped in Batford, near Harpenden, Hertfordshire on the morning of Saturday 3 September 2011.
Officers then searched an address in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire and another haul of drugs were discovered, including six kilos of cocaine.
Keith Anthony Ellis, 51, from Harkness in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire, has been charged with several counts of possession with intent to supply. He has been remanded in custody and he's due back in court in Stevenage on 14 September 2011.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Chinery said "Whilst Hertfordshire remains a safe county in which to live, we will always strive to tackle those we suspect to be involved in drugs offences.
"Anyone believed to be involved in such activity will be pursued through the courts and, if found guilty, dealt with robustly."
