Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a suspicious incident in Elstree on February 9.
At around 4.50pm a 10 year old boy was walking along Sullivan Way when a vehicle began to follow him. The driver then opened the passenger door and is believed to have indicated to boy to get into the vehicle. The boy ran off and was not injured.
The suspect is described as a white man aged around 40 years old. He was of a large build and had a bald head. He was wearing a striped t-shirt and jeans. The vehicle was a small dark red vehicle.
PC Darren Arbuthnott is investigating and said: "Firstly, I would like to reassure members of the public that this is an unusual incident and that we are investigating this matter fully. I appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the vehicle to contact police."
Anyone with information should contact PC Arbuthnott via the Herts police non-emergency number 101 quoting ISR 533 of Sunday, February 9. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
