Boxer Anthony Joshua, who grew up in Watford, is among those recognised in the New Year Honours List.
The 23 year old gets an MBE for services to boxing. Other London 2012 athletes to be honoured include cyclist Victoria Pendleton, long-distance runner Mo Farah, heptathlete gold medal winner Jessica Ennis and wheelchair athlete David Weir who all get CBEs.
Cyclist Bradley Wiggins becomes Sir Bradley with a knighthood.
Hertfordshire cyclist Laura Trott, who won two golds at London 2012, gets an OBE, as does tennis player Andy Murray.
