The family of murdered Watford man Mohammed Mujib – Ur- Rahman Hakim, known as Mujib Hakim, have paid tribute to a ‘caring and intelligent man’.

They have issued the following statement:

“Our brother, Mujib Hakim, was a Watford born and bred British man, who was well known around the Watford area.

He was a friendly, sociable, caring, generous and intelligent man.

He was a graduate of the Royal Holloway University of London, with a degree in Economics and Social Policy.

We shall remember his loving, caring and kind ways with his brothers, sisters, father, his late mother and step-mother and his extended family.

We had the pleasure of 40 years of his company.

His death has left a deep sadness and vacuum in our lives.

We will remember our brother, in our hearts and minds always.

We will always love and miss Mujib, may Allah keep him in peace in heaven.”

Mujib’s family would also like to thank their extended family members of the public, police and friends for their assistance and support over the past few weeks.

The have asked to be left alone to grieve in peace at this difficult time.

22 year old Josh Lewis, of Merton Road in Watford, has been accused of murdering Hak and has been remanded in custody after appearing Hatfield magistrate's court earlier this week.

Five other people arrested are on bail until September.
