Arrest Over Fatal A2 Crash

A lorry driver has been arrested following the deaths of three men in a crash on the A2 early yesterday morning (Thursday).

The car they were in, a black Mercedes, collided with a parked lorry near Dunkirk at 4.29am. A fourth man suffered serious injuries and was taken to a London hospital for treatment.

The lorry driver, a 35-year-old man from France, was arrested on suspicion of  causing death by reckless/ dangerous driving.

He has since been released pending further enquiries.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or if people have dashcam footage which may assist officers in their investigation.
