Tributes Paid To Moped Rider

Tributes are paid to a moped rider who died on the A2 on New Year's Eve

25-year-old Adam Cothill of Dover was riding towards Dover at 7.10 pm when he collided with the central reservation near Shelvin and came off his moped.

A witness has told police that he was lying in the road and was then hit by a lorry which failed to stop, possibly unaware at what had happened.

Police checked lorries parked on the A2 and at the Port of Dover but were unable to trace the vehicle, believed to be foreign registered, that was reported to be involved.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the moped being ridden prior to the crash is urged to contact Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538.

Tribute From Family

“Adam was born in Dudley, West Midlands on 1 June 1985. He was raised in Dover by his Mum (Kay), Dad (Matt) alongside brothers Harvey and Aaron.

He went to Astor Secondary School and went on to work as a carer for various people in S.E. Kent.

He had a passion for music, bikes and films, but most of all, in-line rollerblading, and was well known in the area for that.

As in his work, he cared for everybody, his family, his dog Rio and especially his girlfriend Anna.

Adam loved everyone and everyone who ever met Adam loves him.

Truly Tragic!
