Two people from London have been charged with using a drone to carry mobile phones and cannabis into a prison
Officers were called in after reports a drone was being used to send mobile phones and cannabis into Swaleside prison in Eastchurch
25 year old Ingrid Edwards, of Wolfe Crescent in Charlton, has been charged with two counts of bringing the prohibited items into the prison.
37 year old Daniel Lee Kelly, of Amblecote Meadows in Grove Park, has been charged with the same offences.
The items are alleged to have been sent into the prison between 16 March and 25 April 2016.
Both appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 26 April.
Kelly has been remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday 24 May. Edwards has been bailed to appear at the court on the same day.
