Hersden: Man Critical After Being Shot By Police
A man is fighting for life after being shot by police who were called to a house where his 16-year-old daughter had suffered stab wounds.
Firearms officers and police negotiators were sent to the house in Hersden, near Canterbury, Kent, at 11.20pm yesterday.
Sources said a girl of 16 inside the property had suffered stab wounds and her 40-year-old father was shot by a police officer.
Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
Kent Police said the girl and the man were taken to hospital, where they are both in a critical condition.
The case has been voluntarily referred to the police watchdog, the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).
