Officers say they are also keen to hear from anyone who remembers seeing a young couple between 2am and 2.45am on Sunday 1 May on the East pier in Ramsgate.

They are urging those who were fishing in the area, working on the boats in the harbour, or perhaps in the area on holiday are all being urged to get in touch if they saw a man and a woman on the pier at that time.

A 21-year-old man from Ramsgate has been arrested on suspicion of murder, and has been released on bail to return to a police station on 24 June.
