A man has been flown to hospital with serious injuries following a crash on the A20 near Folkestone.
His car collided with a tree and overturned on Ashford Road at Sellindge just before 3am today.
Firefighters had to cut the roof off the vehicle to create enough space for paramedics to work on him.
A spokesman said:"Firefighters worked closely with Kent Police, the South East Coast Ambulance Service hazardous area response team and air ambulance doctors to release a man who had become trapped by his injuries.
The casualty was freed and taken to a London hospital by the air ambulance."
One lane is still closed while emergency repairs take place.
