Man In Court On Attempted Murder Charge

A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following an incident in Maidstone last week.
Forty-one-year-old Patrick Matthews, of Tonbridge Road, Maidstone is also accused of possession of cannabis.
He was arrested after police were called to reports that woman known to Mr Matthews had been assaulted.
She remains in a London hospital where her condition is described as stable.
Mr Matthews appeared before Magistrates Court on Monday, 21 January 2019.
He did not enter a plea and has been remanded to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, 18 February 2019.
