Detectives searching for a missing police officer from Kent have arrested a 49-year-old man on suspicion of murder
Scotland Yard says it's going to take some time to identify the human remains found in the search for a missing Metropolitan police officer from Kent.
59 year old Gordon Semple hasn't been seen for six days after he failed to return home after work.
Remains were found at a property on the Peabody Estate in Southwark south east London yesterday.
Neighbours say they knocked on the door of the flat where the body was found to complain about the smell and were met by a man who said he was “cooking for a friend”.
Police were called to the scene a short while later.
Today the officer's brother, Ronnie Semple, said in a statement that his death had left the world of his family and his partner Gary ``a worse place''.
