Migrants Picked Up Near Dover

The local MP says it is "very concerning that yet more suspected migrants have been picked up this morning".

Eight suspected migrants have been picked up after being spotted in a boat off the coast of Kent.

The coast guard said it was helping the border force after the vessel was spotted at about 7am near Dover.

It comes after 14 people were rescued from dinghies off Kent in the early hours of yesterday.

The RNLI was called just after 10am but has since been stood down.

MP for Dover, Charlie Elphicke, said it was "very concerning that yet more suspected migrants have been picked up this morning".
