Kent Police say their enquiries are "ongoing" following the death of a 70-year-old man at an address in Gillingham.
They were called to Capstone Road at just after 11AM on Tuesday morning.
Officers attended along with ambulance staff, who confirmed that the man had died.
They say it was apparent he had suffered head injuries.
A post-mortem examination was held yesterday (Wednesday) but detectives say they need to carry out more tests.
We're expecting the man to be named later, but his family has been told.
A Kent Police spokesman said: "The death is currently being treated as suspicious and is being investigated by detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate".
