MP's discuss Operation Stack
MP's at a special meeting discussing a potential lorry park for operation stack say one of the sites could be open next summer
The area just north of the M20 near Standford, will cost around 2 hundred and 50 million pounds to develop and hold around 4 thousand lorries
A decision on where it will be built is expected to be made in the next few weeks
Meanwhile the chief executive of Highways England Jim O'Sullivan says Manston Airport could still be used as a lorry park this summer if Operation Stack needed to be introduced
Mr O'sullivan answered questions relating to the cost of the project along with Andrew Jones MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, and Jon Griffiths, Deputy Director, Road Investment Strategy Division althouugh they wouldn't confirm how much teh former airport has been paid to remain on standby should it be needed
