Pensioner Dies After Being Hit By Car

A pensioner has died after being hit by a car in Tenterden.
An 84-year-old man was using a pedestrian crossing when he was hit by a blue Nissan Micra, shortly before 6.40pm yesterday.
He was taken to a London hospital but died a short time later. His next of kin are aware.
An 18-year-old man from the town was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody.
Officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the car beforehand.
