Police are investigating a reported fight and knife attack in Sheerness.
Police are investigating a reported fight and knife attack in SheernessOfficers were called to the High Street just after 2am Saturday morning along with an ambulance crew.
They found a man who had collapsed. He was treated at the scene for serious cuts before being taken to a London hospital.
Police say the man's injuries are not life-threatening but may be life-changing.
Police cordoned off part of the High Street between Beach Street and Railway Road. Several business were unable to open, including Angels Beauty Salon. It posted a message to its customers on Instagram: "Hi everyone, just to let you all know that as a result of an incident that occurred last night in the Sheerness town that the Police have stopped everyone from coming into our part of the town. They will notify us as soon as they have opened it and we have contacted all clients who are booked in so please check your mobiles for messages."
This is the second knife attack in the town in the last ten days. A man in his 20s was stabbed in the High Street in the early hours of Thursday, 18th August.
A 20-year-old was arrested in connection with that stabbing. He has been bailed until September 11th.
