Strong Winds Could Cause Operation Stack

Police say gale force winds today could mean Operation Stack on the M20 later

This is the system used to queue lorries on the M20 when there is a problem crossing the Channel, in this case - high winds.

As of 09.20am Kent Police say Operation Stack is 'Possible'.

We have also heard from the Port of Dover have sent us this information:

'All sailings from the Eastern Docks with P&O Ferries and SeaFrance to Calais and DFDS Seaways to Dunkerque are subject to delays due to the adverse weather conditions. Passengers booked with P&O Ferries are requested to check in at their normal time to be accommodated on the next possible sailing'

The Met Office say gusts of wind will reach around 50mph at times today, especially around the coast, and there will be rain on and off all day.
