Two Fatal Crashes Over Weekend

Police want anyone who witnessed either crash to get in touch

Police are investigating a fatal road traffic collision, which happened in Harbledown near Canterbury on Saturday night.

A 21-year-old man, a pedestrian, was struck by a silver Audi TT which had left the A2 at the Harbledown slip and was heading into Canterbury along London Road around 11.45pm. Paramedics were quickly at the scene and attempted to help the man, but he died shortly afterwards

The road was closed. It was reopened at 4.30am Sunday.

And police were called just after 10am on Sunday to a road traffic collision outside the White Hart Pub in Claygate, Marden, near Tonbridge.

An elderly man on a bicycle was in collision with a blue Renault Clio on Maidstone Road, close to the junction with Sheephurst Lane. The Kent Air Ambulance was called, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed until 2.15pm.
