5. 1960s: Short and Straight.
The 60s brought a political, musical and sexual revolution and hair followed suit. The boyish look was back: girls wore short hair with long straight fringes or bowl haircuts and had stick-thin frames, just like model Twiggy. Vidal Sassoon was the hairdresser to go to if you lived in London.
