Perceptions Of Beauty Are SO Different Depending On Where You're From!
One highstreet pharmacy is on a mission to show that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Photoshop whizzes have worked their magic on just ONE photo of the same model and changed her shape to fit different countries ideals of weight and size...and the results are astounding!
1. The Original
Everybody knows that beauty standards can be similar or opposite, depending on from whose point you're coming from. Now health store Superdrug has hi-lighted this well known fact in a clever new campaign. Designers were let loose on a single picture and allowed to edit it to their own countries' "ideal" beauty standards. The outcomes are truly fascinating. Picture: onlinedoctor.superdrug.com
Italy made their model much skinner and taller, as well as stylising her underwear turning it a sexy shade of red. Italy and China had the two thinnest figures of all 18 counties asked to participate in the investigation. Picture: onlinedoctor.superdrug.com
Egypt darkened and thickened their model's hair but kept her more curvaceous hips. Picture: onlinedoctor.superdrug.com
The United States of America also like their women more curvy it seems, but kept the model fairly close to the original. Picture: onlinedoctor.superdrug.com
5. South Africa
South Africa probably changed the original image the least, keeping hair colour and weight fairly similar. Picture: onlinedoctor.superdrug.com
China's designers drastically reduced the size of the model's waist, whilst increasing her breast size. The Chinese BMI is so low, it qualifies as anorexic under NHS guidelines, which state: 'Adults with anorexia generally have a BMI below 17.5.' Picture: onlinedoctor.superdrug.com
The Netherlands liked their model with red hair and boosted breast size. Picture: onlinedoctor.superdrug.com
Whereas some designers altered the original image until it was almost unrecognisable, Spain kept their's fairly similar to the original. Spain's entry was estimated to weigh 10st 9lb which gave the 5ft 4in model a BMI of 25.5. Picture: onlinedoctor.superdrug.com
