With 'A Single Man' director (and fashion designer) Tom Ford and co-star Julianne Moore. Firth received an Oscar nomination for Best Actor for his portrayal of protagonist George but lost to Jeff Bridges. That year however the British actor won a Leading Actor BAFTA Award.
