Colour trends for S/S 2011 announced

Colour company Pantone has revealed the colour trends for S/S 2011 and many shades can already be seen on the catwalk

It might be strange to be  talking about trends for Spring/Summer 2011 already but fashion is six months ahead and although it's not winter yet, legendary American colour specialist company Pantone has released the hottest shades for S/S 2011 to coincide with the Spring-Summer fashion weeks in New York, London, Paris and Milan.

The ten shades are picked by designers from the huge Pantone swatch, and featured into their collections each season.

Colours like Beeswax (a slightly dark honey yellow) and Lavender can be currently seen in the collections shown at New York Fashion Week. Victoria Beckham has featured the Beeswax shade in her S/S collection. Russet (an orangey, light brown similar to terracotta), Silver Peony (a very pale pink) and Silver Cloud (a pale, silvery grey) were all featured in Posh's collection too.

Other colours that will be huge in Spring and Summer fashion are: Honeysuckle (a reddish pink), Coral Rose (a muted orange with a hint of pink), Regatta (a turquoise shade), Peapod (a pea green), Blue Curacao (an intense sea blue).

And for this Autumn and Winter, the shade trends are: burnt oranges, browns, reds, grey and charcoal and shades of purple.
