Heart's Feel Good Weekend with Lilah Parsons 10pm - 1am
Artistic Director Alexandra Zdravkova and Technical Director Anna Short, from renowned salon Michaeljohn, Anna Wintour's hairdressers, give us the lowdown on the hottest hair trends for Autumn/Winter 2011/2012
Alexandra - Style: Long hair is beautiful and bouncy with lots of movement and texture. Forget sharp cuts, this is about the softer look Anna - Colour: Shades are luxurious, shiny and opulent for brunettes and redheads this season. Icy and silvery for blondes.
Colour: Blondes are icy this season. Leave the golden blondes to the summer and go for an ice-queen blonde with silver tones instead.
Colour: Reds are rich this season. Think deep mohoganies and plums. Russets and coppers are out this season
Colour: Browns are rich in tones. Think 3D colour for redheads and brunettes as opposed to a flat shade. Very dark browns, tulip browns, conker shades and burgundy are all huge trends this Autumn/Winter
Style: This is not the season for masculine cuts. If you like short hair, keep it soft, loser and forget sharp edges. A medium short cut is in, a pixie cut definitely out
New techniques: Michaeljohn have developped the Foundation Blow Dry, exclusive to their salon, hair extensions that create volume rather than length. The extensions are made of human hair and applied with keratine - never glue - and ultrasound waves thanks to the new multisonic machine, which doesn't use heat.
Style: Curly hair is definitely in with the 70s trends dominating this season. Think loose curls though, instead of corkscrew. Lots of different lengths, texture and soft, tumbling curls.
Style: Hair is left down this season, but if you like updos, forget tight buns, and keep yours soft with hair tumbling down
