According to one psychologist a 'millennial' is just code for a spoiled, narcissistic and image obsessed brat. Errmmm, let's hope not...

Have you ever been mid-selfie and thought 'what on earth am I doing?'

Well, lose the duck pout and put that iPhone down, because experts believe the 'selfie generation' also known as 'millennials' are morphing into horrid human beings!

Psychologist Jean Twenge, author of 'Generation Me', argues that young people born between 1980 and 2000 are more likely than their parents to think they're above average...in everything!

We're talking looks, intelligence, kindness, the works. She also says millennials are selfish, narcissistic and spoiled brats. Ouch.

Twenge reckons it's all to do with parenting changes, like giving children unusual names, giving them more spending money and access to technology and mobile phones.

Say it with us, don't blame the millennial blame the forward-facing camera!

We've even gathered the evidence to prove that, no matter how old you are, selfies are just plain weird...

Exhibit One: The pre-selfie hair fix

Exhibit Two: The 'too much thought has gone into this' selfie

Exhibit Three: The forced selfie

See all selfies are kinda awkward...
