Despite every indication the housing market is falling, asking prices jumped by more than 5 per cent in London in the four weeks to October the 9th.
That's according to property website Rightmove, which is suggesting sellers are refusing to adjust to the reality of a falling market.
There have been three consecutive months of lower selling prices and record levels of property on estate agents' books.
