Children to get free school dinners

Southwark Council is giving free school meals to every pupil in the borough to stop poorer children feeling like they're getting special treatment.

It's costing £8m but the council reckons it'll also reduce obesity as youngsters are guaranteed one healthy meal a day.

It comes as the borough says it's trying to save £34m as part of all the spending cuts.
