22 June 2015, 19:11

A woman cyclist has been killed in a crash with a lorry near the Bank of England.

The crash involving a tipper truck happened just before 9am on Monday 22 June 2015.

The cyclist was aged 26 and was later pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver stopped at the scene and City of London Police were investigating.

This death came just over 24 hours after another crash when a 50-year-old cyclist died in a crash with a car in Harrow.

These deaths take the total number of cyclists killed on London's roads in 2015 to eight.

One of the two most recent incidents was in Camberwell on May 29 when physiotherapist Esther Hartsilver died.

On April 9, Moira Gemmill, 55, a leading figure in the arts and design world, was killed in a crash with a tipper truck close to Lambeth Bridge in Westminster.
