Eurostar Criticised In Report

The rail operator Eurostar says it will spend 30 million pounds to implement changes identified by a report into travel problems at Christmas.

A hundred thousand people had their travel plans disrupted when five trains broke down in the Channel tunnel after heavy snow caused them to short circuit.

The review says winter maintenance work wasn't done properly and that detailed evacuation and communication plans weren't in place.

It made 21 recommendations, including things like more rescue shuttles, better communications and improved snow-proofing.
