A fire at a chemical processing plant in Greenwich which caused thick smoke to drift across south east London is now completely out.

Around 70 firefighters were at the factory on Peterboat Close at one point.

Neighbours reported hearing a sound described like an air-raid siren this morning as fire crews tackled the flames.

London Fire Brigade had told people to keep doors and windows closed as a precaution but it's not thought the smoke was harmful.

There are no reports of injuries.
