A man's been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a woman in her thirties was found at a hostel for vulnerable people in Acton.

Michael Meanza, 47, who has schizophrenia, was arrested by officers in Ealing, West London, after Scotland Yard issued an appeal to find him.

The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was discovered injured at the hostel in Perryn Road, Acton, shortly after 6.30am on Monday 27 July 2015.

She is believed to have worked at the hostel, which is understood to be a supported living service for vulnerable people, Scotland Yard said.

London Ambulance Service attended and pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

Scotland Yard said: "Michael Meanza was arrested this afternoon, Monday, 27 July in the Ealing area. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody at this time."

Next of kin have been informed of the death but formal identification has yet to take place.

Police said a post-mortem examination would take place in due course.
