Job Cuts At London Underground

London Underground's cutting up to 800 jobs as part of plans to save 16 million pounds a year.

Most of them will be station staff, but NO tube station ticket office will close and there'll be more CCTV cameras.

But the RMT union claims it'll turn the tube into a "muggers paradise".

It comes as maintenance workers on the railways - vote to go on strike.

The RMT members are protesting over planned job cuts at Network Rail and it could mean major disruption over Easter.

Staying with the trains - and plans for a national high speed rail link between London and Scotland via Birmingham have been unveiled - work could start in 7 years - and would mean you can get from Euston to Birmingham in under 50 minutes.
