London Fire Brigade's saved £9m thanks to a big fall in the number of false call-outs in the last four years.
Crews went to nearly 41,000 false calls in 2011 triggered by automatic alarms.
However the service warns they're still heading out to a false or hoax call every 10 minutes at a cost of £37m a year.
