New research says people in London face the slowest rush hour traffic in England.
A new survey has found that cars in the city travel at the slowest rush hour rate - with average speeds at peak times of just over 10 miles per hour.
The fastest rush hour rate is in Peterborough - where motorists drive an average speed of 19 miles per hour.
Overall, the typical rush-hour slows traffic speeds in cities by an average of 3.6mph, research by Direct Line Drive Plus found.
After London, the slowest rush-hour speeds were to be found in Lancaster (10.88mph), Cambridge (11.30 mph) and Hereford (11.49mph).
Thursdays, rather than Mondays or Fridays, appeared to be the worst day for rush-hour congestion.
