Around a quarter of a million people have welcomed in the New Year in London on the Banks of the Thames.

30 tonnes of fireworks were fired into the night sky over the London Eye in an 11-minute display.

London's emergency services have had one of the busiest nights on record:

Control Room staff handled nearly 3000 calls, which were mainly alcohol related.

And the Met Police have made 96 arrests.
