A 26-year-old man has been arrested over a violent attack on a London bus that left a young woman unconscious.
The victim, 22, was at the back of the bus, which was travelling through south-east London, when a group of five men got on board and sat down nearby.
Members of the group, who were all unknown to the woman, started criticising her clothing and some moved to be closer to her, images captured on CCTV show.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "One man then poured a can of drink over the victim and pulled her hair. She got up from her seat, but was pushed and then kicked in the stomach.
"The victim fell to the floor of the bus and was unconscious."
She was taken to hospital with a head injury after the attack, which happened on a 344 bus in Lambeth at 1.15am on August 29, and was released later that day.
The man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm after attending a police station in south London earlier today.
Detective Constable Kyla Mulley said: "This was a shocking attack on a young woman, prompted by nothing more than a brief exchange of words."
