A 20 year-old man has died after being shot and stabbed in south London.
Emergency services were called to East Surrey Grove in Southwark at around 10.30pm yesterday (Tuesday April 21) where they found the victim in a critical condition.
Scotland Yard say he was taken to a central London hospital where he later died.
Detective Chief Inspector Will Reynolds of the Homicide and Major Crime Command leads the investigation.
DCI Reynolds said: "At this early stage we believe that the victim was making his way into the estate by pedal cycle when he was confronted by two people who have shot him, stabbed him and left the scene on foot toward Sumner Road via a cut through from Cator Road.
"We know that local residents heard the shots and we are keen to speak with anyone who either witnessed the incident itself or saw the suspects fleeing the scene."
Officers believe they know the identity of the victim and Next of kin have been informed.
A post-mortem examination will be held in due course and no arrests have been made.
Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 0208 721 4205 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
