Mayor confirms council tax cut

The Mayor's confirmed his share of Londoner's Council tax is to be cut for the first time.

He's secured 90 million pounds from government - which means he can reduce it by one percent this year.

The tax which has been frozen each year since Boris came to power is expected be a key part of his pitch for re-election.

His campaign team hope the move will help him compete with his rival Ken Livingstone's promise of a reduction in transport fares.
