A 20-year-old man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with the attempted murder of two police officers.
Portuguese-born Carlos Djau is accused of carrying out a knife attack on the Metropolitan Police constables at his home on Cooks Road in Walworth, south east London, shortly after 8pm on Saturday 28 February 2015.
The alleged incident happened after police responded to a call about an armed man who had picked up a baby.
A Pc in his 30s received stab wounds to his shoulder and head and was taken to hospital, but has since been discharged.
Djau wore a grey T-shirt and jogging bottoms as he sat in the dock during the short hearing at Camberwell Magistrates' Court.
He spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth.
District Judge Tim Stone remanded the defendant in custody until a hearing at Woolwich Crown Court on 16 March 2015.
