Pub Stab Murder: Man Charged

Police have charged a man with the murder of another man who was stabbed to death in a pub in south west London.

The 49 year old victim, who hasn't been named, was attacked in the Tapestry pub in Lower Richmond Road, Mortlake, just before 9pm on Tuesday 22 April 2014.

Officers and London Ambulance Service were called to the pub and the man was taken to hospital but died at 2.20am on Wednesday 23 April.

Nicholas Hunter, 36, of Rodenhurst Road in Clapham, south London, was charged with murder and was due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Thursday 24 April.

Hunter was arrested at the scene, initially on suspicion of attempted murder, and taken into custody at a south west London police station.

A post-mortem examination is expected to take place in due course.

Detectives from the Homicide & Major Crime Command were investigating and an incident room was opened at Putney.
