Olympic diver Tom Daley has been crowned Man of the Year at the Attitude Awards in London.

The 20-year-old, who publicly announced his homosexuality last year, has topped the magazine's Hot 100 Sexiest Men list for the past two years.

"It's a real honour to be named Man of the Year 2014 by Attitude magazine. It's been a good year and to be given this award means a lot," Daley said.

The Attitude Awards celebrate the achievements of gay people in entertainment, fashion and politics.

Magazine editor Matthew Todd said: "The Attitude Awards are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate all the people that have shaped our readers' lives for the last year.

"It's also to show young LGBT people who might be growing up feeling a bit scared about the world, that the people whose songs they download, whose films and TV shows they watch, and leaders of the political parties they may vote for, support them back."

Celebrities turned out for the event at Whitehall's Banqueting House which also raised funds for the Elton John Aids Foundation.

Other winners include Boy George, Paloma Faith and Ella Henderson.
