Fire: Man Released

A man arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead following a house fire in Milton Keynes has been released on bail.

Firefighters and police were called to a flat at St Leger Court, Great Linford, just before 8pm on Sunday 19 May 2013.

The 58 year old man has been told to report back to police on Tuesday 16 July 2013 while they continue their enquiries.

The results of an initial post-mortem examination on the body of the woman who died were inconclusive and further tests will now be carried out.

Senior Investigating Officer Det Ch Insp Gill Wootton said: “There are a number of enquiries being progressed into the circumstances of the cause of the fire and the woman’s death.”

“Although the formal identification has still not been completed, we believe we know the woman’s identity and are keeping her next of kin informed of any developments.”
