Thames Valley Police have told Heart a 58 year old man remains in custody, having been arrested on suspicion of murder following the fire at a flat in St Leger Court, Great Linford, on the evening of Sunday 19 May 2013.
The body of a woman was found inside. A post mortem examination was carried out by a Home Office pathologist. The results were inconclusive and further tests will now be carried out.
A formal identification has not yet been carried out.

“While she has not been formally identified, we believe we know who she is and have located her next of kin. They are being kept updated on the progress of our ongoing investigation.
“Enquiries will continue at the property throughout today as we work towards establishing the cause of the fire and a scene guard remains in place.”
Local Policing Area Commander Supt Barry Halliday said: “As the investigation continues I would like to reassure the local community that we will continue to maintain a visible presence in the area.
“Anyone with concerns or questions can raise these with local neighbourhood policing officers, who will be carrying out extra patrols of the area.”
