It has a lace-like mesh complete with 8 thousand holes to represent each torchbearer.
A triangular shape on the torch also symbolises the three times that London has staged the Games .

The 8000 runners will carry the Olympic flame a total of 13,000 kilometres before the opening ceremony.

The flame will arrive from Greece on May 18, 2012
The relay will continue for 70 days until the opening ceremony of the Games on July 27, 2012.
