Undies, bras, knickers and maybe a few other things…that’s what we think of when Ann Summers is mentioned. But now a new ITV drama will show a different side to the company. Here’s what we know…
ITV is about to get a whole lot more exciting thanks to a planned drama about the early days of Ann Summers. Yep, expect knickers and laughs galore!
Although filming on ‘Brief Encounters’ doesn’t start until the end of this month, the stars have already been announced…and it sounds fab.
Sophie Rundle, who’s starred in ‘Peaky Blinders’ and ‘Happy Valley’, will play lead character Steph who discovers the joys of hosting Ann Summers’ infamous parties.
She’s backed by Penelope Wilton aka Isobel Crawley from ‘Downton Abbey’, Angela Griffin of ‘Lewis’ and Sharon Rooney of ‘My Mad Fat Diary’. Sounds good, right?
Plus, the show is set in Sheffield in the early 1980s, which means shoulder pads, bad perms and general fashion disasters – what’s not to love!
