Queen Elizabeth hires someone to wear in her shoes

Being Queen comes with it perks and apparently one of them is having your shoes worn in by somebody else!

Buying a brand new pair of shoes is one of life's small pleasures.

But as with all great things there's often a downside, and with shoes it's the wearing in process, especially the blisters.

Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth has a cunning way of getting rid of those new shoe blues...she gets somebody else to wear them in for her!

Apparently, the Queen has a member of staff who breaks in her shoes before she wears them.

The Metro revealed that the royal shoe wearer wears cotton ankle socks to do the royal duty and walks only on carpets until they are satisfactorily broken in.

We hope she gets paid a lot for the amount of blisters she probably has to put up with!

Not all of us can afford a royal shoe wearer so here are some tips for wearing in your new shoes...

  • Wear your shoes for short periods at a time initially and then gradually increase the amount of time you wear them for.

  • Put on two pairs of socks and wear them around the house to stretch them out a bit.

  • Blast the hairdryer onto the parts of the shoes that hurt the most and it should soften the material.
