Royal Christenings: The Queen through to Prince Louis

1. The Duke and Duchess of York with Princess Elizabeth
The Duchess of York (aka The Queen Mother), holds Princess Elizabeth (aka The Queen), with her husband King George VI during her christening on 29th May 1926. The service took place at the private chapel at Buckingham Palace.
2. Princess Elizabeth with Prince Charles
Princess Elizabeth (aka The Queen) smiles after the christening ceremony of Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace on 15th December 1948. The newborn Prince wore the Honiton lace christening robe, which was made in 1841 for the christening of Queen Victoria's eldest daughter.

The Royal couple christen their only daughter Princess Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise on 21st October 1950, in the Music Room at Buckingham Palace.

Princess Diana cradles a tiny Prince William on his christening day - 4th August 1982, alongside the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Edinburgh, The Queen and The Queen Mother. Growing up, his parents affectionally nicknamed him 'Wombat.'

Princess Diana beams with pride at Prince Harry's christening on 21st December 1984. Prince Harry was actually christened Henry Charles Albert David, and wore the Honiton lace christening robe - just like every Royal before him.
6. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with Prince George
Kate and Wills take a young Prince George for his Christening ceremony on 23rd October 2013. A replica of the Honiton lace gown was made for the future King, which was also used for Princess Charlotte at her christening.

Kate Middleton coos down at a tiny Princess Charlotte on her christening day, on 5th July 2015. The service took place at St Mary Magdalene Church at the Queen's Sandringham estate, Norfolk.
8. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with Prince Louis
Prince Louis' christening on July 9 2018 was also the first time the Cambridges had been seen in public with all three of their children. The whole family was dressed immaculately for the ceremony at St. James' Palace.
