15. Prince Johan Friso and Mabel Wisse Smit
The marriage of Prince Friso and Mabel Wisse Smit rocked Holland to the core. Due to not seeking permission from the Dutch cabinet, a constitutional requirement of that country, the Prince was excluded from the line of succession. The brave Prince, who dared to defy public convention, tragically died in skiing accident, when he was buried beneath an avalanche in Austria. He leaves behind him two daughters and his loving wife.
